2 tablespoons San J Tamari Soy Sauce - gluten free
5 tablespoons sugar
5 tablespoons Heinz white vinegar - gluten free
1 orange, zest
Instructions
Place chicken in a large bowl. Season with salt and white pepper. Add 1 tablespoon oil and mix well. Stir in the egg.
In another bowl mix the flour and cornstarch together. Add chicken pieces into the flour mixture to coat.
Heat oil for deep frying to 375 degrees. Add chicken in batches and fry 3 to 4 minutes or until golden crisp. Do not overcook. Remove with a slotted spoon on a paper towel lined plate.; set aside. Cook the remaining chicken.
Sauce: combine the soy sauce, water, sugar, white vinegar, rice wine, orange zest and sesame oil in a small bowl.
Heat wok on medium high heat and add 1 tablespoon oil. Add the garlic and ginger, stir fry until fragrant. Add the red pepper flakes and stir for 5 seconds. Add the sauce and bring to a quick boil. Add the chicken.
Stir 1 tablespoon cornstarch into 2 tablespoons water until smooth and add to the pan. Heat sauce until thickened. Serve
