Easy gluten free fried halibut

Ingredients
  • 1 to 2 pounds skinless halibut, cut into serving pieces
  • 1½ cups Kruzteas All purpose flour - gluten free
  • ½ cup Cup4Cup All purpose flour - gluten free
  • 1½ teaspoon Clabber Girl Baking Powder - gluten free
  • 1½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 to 1½ cups water or more
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • San J Tamari Soy Sauce, for dipping - gluten free
  • lemon juice
Instructions
  1. Heat enough oil in a wok or deep fryer over medium heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flours, baking powder, salt and water (consistency should be slightly thick). Use a handheld electric beater until smooth. Pat dry the halibut steaks with paper towels.
  3. Coat the fish letting excess batter to drip before frying. Fry until slightly golden and crispy turning few times. Transfer to a platter lined with paper towels.
  4. Pour enough soy sauce in a small bowl and squirt lemon juice. Serve
Notes
I used a bamboo skewer to pick up the halibut and dipping them in the batter then gently dropping them in the hot oil. This way they get a more even coat.
