Gluten Free Homemade Doughnuts

Easy gluten free homemade doughnuts

Ingredients
  • 2½ cups King Arthur Gluten Free Bread Flour
  • 1 packet Red Star dry active yeast - gluten free
  • 1 large egg at room temperature
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened
  • ¾ cup whole milk, warm
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • oil for frying
  • sugar for rolling
Instructions
  1. In a bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast, let it sit for 5 minutes. Add the sugar, egg and salt.
  2. Add the flour and mix then form into a ball. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes. Add the butter and knead from 5 to 7 minutes and form into a ball. Cover and let it sit in a warm place for 1 hour until it becomes bigger in size.
  3. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and individually form them into balls and place on a baking sheet with parchment paper, cover again and let it sit for 45 minutes.
  4. Form the dough into doughnuts using a doughnut cutter.
  5. Heat 1½ inch oil to 350 degrees F. Fry doughnuts in batches to 1 minute to 1½ minutes per side until they become golden brown. Transfer the doughnuts to a platter lined with paper towels. Roll doughnuts on a plate with sugar. Serve warm! So yummy!
