Gluten Free Spicy Beef with Bean Sprouts and Scallions

Ingredients
  • 2 New York steaks, trimmed and sliced thinly
  • 1½ cups bean sprouts
  • 1 teaspoon Clabber Girl Cornstarch (mixed with 1 tablespoon cold water) - gluten free
  • 5 tablespoons Tamari Soy sauce - gluten free
  • 3 scallions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Mirin
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, sliced
  • 1 chili pepper, sliced
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or peanut oil
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine beef, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sugar and mirin. Let marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat a cast iron skillet or wok on high. Add oil, then the beef mixture. Stir fry for about 3 minutes and transfer to a plate. On the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add the bean sprout, scallions and some of the hot peppers. (You can use the whole hot peppers depending on how spicy you like). Add the cornstarch and return the beef to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Stir and cook fro 1 to 2 minutes then place on a serving platter, Serve
